First and foremost, the overall cost of any type of orthodontic treatment depends on the complexity of the case, the patient’s age, the type of appliances used, and the expected treatment duration.
At your initial visit, our doctors will complete a complimentary thorough clinical examination to give you your treatment options, coming up with a treatment plan best suitable for your needs, and what to expect in terms of the cost of the treatment.
Early Treatment

Early correction of immediate orthodontic concerns for children 11 and younger.

Claiming Insurance
Before reviewing financing options it’s important to consider insurance because limiting your out of pocket expense as well as taking advantage of your benefits options allows you to enjoy your orthodontic journey more comfortably.
Insurance companies typically don’t make it easy to determine orthodontic coverage or to understand how they will reimburse you for orthodontic fees.
We will work with your insurance provider to help make the process as efficient as possible for you! It is our pleasure to help assist you with the process!
Our financial coordinator will help determine your insurance coverage, ensure your payment option meets the policy requirements, and provide you with the forms required to receive your reimbursement directly and as quickly as possible.

What if I/my child has coverage with more than one insurance company?
Wonderful! If the policy has orthodontic coverage we will help coordinate the benefit coverage. With the coordination of benefits, you claim first with the plan you are a member of, then you claim any amount that was not reimbursed with the second plan. When claiming for a child, each month, the parent with the birthday that falls first in the year, would claim first, and then send the remainder to the second or third company along with a copy of the explanation of benefits.
I would like to keep my monthly payments low, can I still have orthodontics?
Absolutely! We would be happy to customize a payment structure that works for your budget. We have no problem extending the monthly payment period to well after you already have your perfect smile.
If I have a Health Spending Account, is that the same as insurance?
Health spending accounts are not the same as insurance plans. They are a tool that some companies offer to reduce medical costs. HSA’s do not require pre-authorization or claim forms but will accept receipts for reimbursement.
If I select a payment structure at the beginning of treatment am I locked in or can I change the structure? Will I pay a penalty?
The comfort of a payment structure option at Walt Orthodontics is that it is completely flexible and there will never be penalties or hidden fees applied. If you’d like to change your monthly payment amount or even pay off the balance early you are more than welcome to at any time.
